Ecommerce website development for stores that want to sell
I build online stores for businesses selling to customers at home and abroad: the right platform for your size, product pages that answer buyers' questions, payments and shipping that work, and the policy pages payment providers ask for before they approve you.
Choosing the platform
No platform is right for everyone. These are the ones I usually recommend, and when.
| WooCommerce | Shopify | Lean custom store | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Stores that want full control and own everything | Stores that want less to maintain | Small catalogues and simple checkout |
| Monthly cost | Hosting, plus paid plugins if needed | Plan fee, plus apps | Very low hosting |
| Upkeep | Regular updates and backups | Handled by the platform | Very little |
| Flexibility | Very high | High, within the platform's rules | Exactly what you need, nothing more |
What a store from me includes
- Product and category templates with every field a buyer needs
- A payment gateway with UPI, cards and wallets, set up and tested. See payment gateways.
- Shipping zones and rates, and cash on delivery where it makes sense
- Privacy, terms, refunds, cancellation and shipping pages written for your store
- Order emails from your own domain that reach the inbox
- Product structured data and a clean structure for ecommerce SEO
- A checkout tested on real phones, on slow connections

Ready to sell online?
Tell me what you sell, roughly how many products and where you ship. I'll recommend a platform and give you the price before any work starts.
Questions about online stores
How long does an online store take to build?
It depends mostly on the number of products and how ready their photos and descriptions are. The store itself can be set up fairly quickly; adding products properly takes longer. I give you a realistic date once I see your catalogue.
Who adds the products?
Either of us. I can add the first batch and show you how to add the rest, or you send me products as you're ready. Either way, I set up a template so every product page is complete.
What ongoing costs should I expect?
Hosting or a platform subscription, the payment gateway's fee per transaction, your domain, and optionally maintenance. I list them all before you choose a platform, so there are no surprises later.
Can you move my store from another platform?
Usually, yes. Products, categories and customers can often be exported and imported, and every old product address should be redirected to its new one so you don't lose search traffic. See my website migration page.
Want an online store that works on day one?
Send me your product list, or a link to where you sell now. I'll reply with the platform I'd use, what's included and the price.
