Website maintenance without the waiting

I maintain websites for businesses in Kashmir and around the world: content and price changes, WordPress updates, backups and checks that forms and buttons still work. You send the change on WhatsApp or by email, and the person who reads it is the person who makes it.

Why an out-of-date site costs you

Most of the damage is quiet. Nobody tells you they left.

A customer who reads one price on your website and hears another on the phone starts to wonder what else is wrong. A school site still showing last year's admission dates, a restaurant menu with dishes you stopped making, a hotel page with the old room rates: each one makes the next enquiry a little less likely.

Most of the fixes are small. A new price, a new staff photo, a changed phone number, a holiday closing date. They matter because they are the details people check before they call, and because Google reads them too. When the hours on your site and on your Google Business Profile disagree, neither looks trustworthy.

What maintenance covers

The work I do on a site after it goes live, agreed with you before I start.

Planned changes

New offers, term dates, seasonal menus or holiday hours, prepared before the date and published on time.

Content and price edits

Prices, dates, phone numbers and staff photos, changed on every page where they appear and not only the first one you spot.

WordPress updates

WordPress itself, the theme and each plugin, updated after a fresh backup so a bad update can be rolled back.

Backups

A copy of the site files, and of the database on WordPress, kept somewhere other than the server the site runs on.

Checks that things work

Contact forms, WhatsApp and call buttons, links and HTTPS, tested on a phone so a broken button doesn't sit there unnoticed.

Search Console

Watching Google Search Console for pages that drop out of Google or start showing errors after a change.

Is your website still showing old information?

Send me the pages that need changing and what is different now. I'll tell you what's involved and the price before I start.

WordPress or plain HTML: what each needs

A plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript site has no database and no plugins, so there is nothing to patch. Looking after it is about content: you send me the change, I make it, check it on a phone and publish it.

WordPress lets you edit pages from a dashboard, and in return it needs more upkeep. WordPress, the theme and the plugins all release updates, and plugins left out of date are a well-known way into a WordPress site. I update them regularly, with a backup taken first, and remove plugins the site no longer uses. More on that on my WordPress development page.

Choosing for a new site? The side-by-side comparison on my website development page and my guide to WordPress or a plain HTML website will help.

How much one change touches

The way a site is organised decides whether a price change means one edit or several.

On a site with a separate page for every product, course or room, one new price can appear on that page, on a category page and on the home page. On a site that lists everything on one page, the same change happens once. Both layouts work. They just need looking after in different ways.

Before I change anything, I search the whole site for every place the old detail appears, including page titles, descriptions and structured data that visitors never see but Google does. Then I change them together, so the site never contradicts itself.

How to ask for a change

You message me directly on WhatsApp or by email, with no forms to fill in.

  1. Send it

WhatsApp me on +91 95963 20118 or email support@zubairlone.com with the page, the new text or price, and any photos.

  2. Check it

For anything bigger than a price, I send you a link or a screenshot to look at on your own phone first.

  3. It goes live

Once you say it's right, I publish it and look at the page again on a phone. If you want, I update your Google listing to match.

If your current site turns every small change into a struggle, it may be time to start again. My website redesign page explains how I replace an old site without losing the pages Google already knows.

Questions about website maintenance

Do I need a monthly maintenance plan?

It depends on the site. A plain HTML site may only need changes when your prices, staff or offers change, while a WordPress site needs its updates and backups done more often. I'll agree what is included with you and give you the price before any work starts.

Can I make small changes myself?

On WordPress, yes: you can edit text, prices and photos from the dashboard while I look after the updates and anything that needs code. On a plain HTML site, changes come through me, which keeps the site light and stops anything breaking by accident.

How quickly do you make a change?

Small edits like a new price, phone number or photo are usually quick once I have the details. Larger changes, such as a new section or a new page, get a date once you and I have agreed what is involved. If something is broken, that comes first.

Can you look after a site someone else built?

Yes, once I have the logins for the domain, the hosting and, on WordPress, an administrator account. I look through the site first and tell you about anything that needs fixing before regular updates make sense.

Want one person looking after your website?

Tell me what your site runs on and what usually needs changing. I'll explain what looking after it involves and give you the price before I start.
