Website speed checker run by me, on request
Send me your website address and I'll test its speed on mobile and desktop with Google's PageSpeed Insights, then reply with the dated results and what I would fix first. This page doesn't give you an instant score, because I want you to see how the test was run and what the numbers mean for your site.
What a proper speed test measures
Two kinds of data, and the difference matters.
PageSpeed Insights is Google's free testing page. It runs Lighthouse, which loads your page in a controlled lab setting and gives it a performance score out of 100, worked out from how quickly the page shows content, how long it is busy running code and how much it shifts while loading. Google colours 90 and above green, 50 to 89 orange and below 50 red.
When a site gets enough visitors using Chrome, the same report also shows field data: how the page really performed for those people over the previous 28 days. Many small business sites don't have enough traffic for that section to appear, so the lab result is the one to work with, and I always say which of the two I'm quoting.
Mobile and desktop are tested separately. The mobile test slows the device and the connection down on purpose, so it nearly always scores lower, and it is the closer match to how most customers will meet your site.
Core Web Vitals in plain words
The three measurements Google uses for how a page feels to use, with Google's thresholds for a good result.
| Measurement | What it means | Good |
|---|---|---|
| Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) | How long until the biggest thing on screen, usually the main photo or heading, has appeared | 2.5 seconds or less |
| Interaction to Next Paint (INP) | How quickly the page responds when someone taps or types | 200 milliseconds or less |
| Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) | How much the page jumps around while it loads | 0.1 or less |
What you get back from me
Results you can check, written so you don't need to be technical to follow them.
The date and the test
When I ran it, which tool and version, whether it was the mobile or desktop test, and which pages I tested.
The numbers
Performance scores for mobile and desktop, the Core Web Vitals, and the field data too if Google has enough of it for your site.
What to fix first
The things slowing the page most, such as oversized photos, heavy scripts or missing caching, in the order I would tackle them.
Want to know why your site is slow?
Send me the address and the page that matters most to your business. If you'd like me to make the fixes afterwards, I'll give you the price first.
How to ask for a speed check
WhatsApp or email, whichever is easier for you.
Send the address
Message +91 95963 20118 on WhatsApp or email support@zubairlone.com with your website address.
Name the page that matters
Your home page, plus the page that brings you business, such as a package, a product or a booking page.
I run the tests
Mobile and desktop on PageSpeed Insights, with the mobile test run more than once because the score moves between runs.
You get the results
Dated scores, Core Web Vitals and a short list of fixes, in plain English.
Request a speed check
Send me the address of your site and I will test it myself and reply to the email address you give.
Test it yourself first
You don't have to wait for me. Open pagespeed.web.dev, paste in your website address and press Analyze. The report opens on the mobile results; there is a tab for desktop. The top section is real visitor data, if Google has any for your site, and the lower section is the lab test with its score and a list of suggestions.
If the list of suggestions reads like a foreign language, send me the link to your report and I'll explain it. When the fixes are clear, my website speed optimisation page explains how I make a slow site faster, and the Cloudflare CDN page covers caching.
Questions about speed tests
Why is my mobile score lower than my desktop score?
The mobile test pretends to be a mid-range phone on a slow mobile connection, while the desktop test assumes a faster computer and network. The same page therefore takes longer in the mobile test. Most visitors to a small business site come on a phone, so the mobile result is the one I look at first.
Why does my score change every time I test?
Lighthouse loads your page fresh on each run, and small differences in the network and the server move the result by a few points. That is why I run the mobile test more than once and write down the date and the tool version with the results.
Do I need a score of 100?
No. A page in the green range that loads its main photo and buttons quickly on a phone is in good shape. Chasing the last few points can mean removing things your customers actually use, such as a map or a WhatsApp button.
Do you need access to my website for the test?
No. PageSpeed Insights tests the public page the way a visitor's browser sees it. Access to the hosting or the WordPress dashboard is only needed later, if you want me to make the fixes.
Is your website slow on a phone?
Send me the address and the page your customers use most. I'll test it, date the results and tell you plainly what I would change.
