Websites for retail shops people walk into

Most shoppers check online before they walk anywhere: is it open, do they have it, how do I get there. I build websites and Google listings for retail shops that answer those three questions fast, so the shopper chooses your door.

What a shop site needs

  • What you stock and the brands
  • Hours, including holidays
  • Directions and parking
  • Offers worth the trip
  • Call or WhatsApp to check stock

The listing usually comes first

For a shop, the Google Business Profile is often worth more than the website. It shows on the map when people search for what you sell nearby, with your photos, hours and reviews. A complete listing with the right category, real photos of the shopfront and inside, products and correct hours is the first job.

The website then does what the listing can't: shows the range in more detail, lists the brands you carry, explains services like alterations, repairs or delivery, and gives you a place to announce offers and new stock.

What I build for shops

Range pages

The categories you stock, with photos and the brands in each.

Hours

Opening hours, festival and holiday hours, updated on the site and the listing together.

Finding you

Directions from landmarks, parking and the entrance to use.

Offers

A simple page for current offers that staff can update, with end dates.

Check stock

A WhatsApp button so shoppers can ask before they make the trip.

Local delivery

Delivery areas and how to order, if you offer it.

When to add an online store

A full online store makes sense when people beyond your town ask for your products, or when local customers keep asking to order from home. Until then, a showcase site with WhatsApp ordering is cheaper to run and easier to manage.

When you're ready, my ecommerce page explains what an online store involves, and local SEO covers how to stay visible to shoppers nearby.

Questions shop owners ask me

Should my shop sell online too?

Only if you can handle the packing, shipping and returns that come with it. Many shops do better showing what they stock and taking orders on WhatsApp for local delivery or pickup first, then adding a full online store once they see the demand.

Can products show on my Google listing?

Yes. You can add products with photos and prices to your Business Profile, which shows shoppers nearby what you stock before they visit. It's worth doing for your most popular items.

How do I compete with big stores online?

On what they can't offer: being nearby, open now, with advice from people who know the products, and stock people can see and touch today. Your site and listing should make those things obvious.

Want more shoppers walking through your door?

Send me your shop's name and Google Maps link. I'll tell you what shoppers see now and what I'd fix first.
