Small business website design that does one job well
A small business website has one main job: turn someone who found you into a call, a message or a visit. I design for that job first, keep everything else out of the way and build it so it's quick on a phone and cheap to look after.
One page or several?
The honest answer depends on how many distinct things you sell.
A one-page site
Suits a business with one main service or a short list: a plumber, a tailor, a small shop. Everything on one scrolling page with clear sections and a contact bar that follows the visitor down.
A small multi-page site
Suits a business with several distinct services, each with its own customers and questions. A page for each lets people and Google find exactly the one they need.
What the first screen says
Most visitors decide in the first few seconds.
What you do
In the words customers use, not a slogan. "Car repairs and servicing in Baramulla" beats "Driven by excellence".
Where
Your town or area, so a visitor knows straight away that you serve them.
Proof
A real photo of your shop, team or work, and a line about your reviews.
How to reach you
Call and WhatsApp buttons, and your opening hours.
Built to be cheap to keep
For most small businesses I build in plain HTML, CSS and a little JavaScript. There is no database to break and no plugins to update, hosting can cost very little, and the site loads fast. Changes come through me on WhatsApp, which for a site that changes a few times a year is usually the cheapest arrangement.
If you want to edit prices, menus or offers yourself every week, I build on WordPress instead and keep it lean. My guide on WordPress or plain HTML explains the choice. The site is ready for small business SEO from day one.

Questions about small business websites
What if I don't have good photos?
Phone photos are fine if they're sharp, well lit and show your real shop, team and work. Take them in daylight and keep the camera steady. They will build more trust than polished stock photos of people who don't work for you.
Do I need to write the text myself?
You know your business best, so a few notes from you are essential: what you do, who for, where and what makes you different. I turn those into clear page text and send it to you to check before anything goes live.
Can I add pages later?
Yes. I build the first version so new service pages, a gallery or a blog can be added without redesigning anything. Many small businesses start small and grow the site once they see what customers ask about.
Want a small site that brings in calls?
Tell me what you do, where and what you'd like customers to do on the site. I'll suggest one page or several and give you the price.
